Welcome to our daily series

Everyday is a new day and with that, a new opportunity.
Tell us what's going on with you, share your show & tell, vent, whatever you want...
I'll go first.

Yesterday was a terrific day!

We met Silky, aka slksfca at Dkos, for the first time. He's our quick and clever master commenter/snecker. We found that he's also lovely in person!

We met for lunch at Park Chow near Golden Gate Park and close to slksfca's flat. Silky was wearing his orange feather boa, a gift from Figbash. Could he be any cuter?

We ordered drinks right away!

That's Silky and his lovely Malbec.

I forgot to take a photo of the Riesling, muddled fresh sage and fresh lemon wine cocktail I had. I couldn't resist a new experience. As bizarre as it sounded I was hopeful. It was lovely. Sips were shared all around.

Also in attendance were remembrance and Glen the Plumber:

This is slksfca getting a long-overdue-massive hug from from the Plumbers! All wrapped in the celebratory orange feather boa.

On our side of the table is kimoconnor, myself and musical-chair-guest-of-honor slksfca. I was able to steal many of his french fries. Yum!

We basically laughed our heads off over terrific food and drink.

Here, we're dragging our feet to say good bye only because the parking meters forced us to leave the restaurant. meh.

Okay, that's my story and I'm sticking to it...

Road Warrior Award goes to Glen the Plumber and remembrance for driving up from San Jose way. (More than an hours drive if Glen is driving, less than an hours drive if remembrance is driving.)

Public Service Announcement!

Let's build communities!

Every region needs a meat-space community like SFKossacks.

We take care of each other, for reals.

I urge YOU to take the lead and organize one in your region.

Please tell us about it if you do and I'm here for advice.

Okay. Floor's open.

Talk amongst yourselves.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
