I like this blog. He has pretty interesting take on stuff and has very detailed Nate Silverish statistical analysis.
Things like:
Oil consumption worldwide will never exceed $4 Trillion/year, no matter how much inflation, political turmoil, or economic growth there is. Thus, 'Peak Oil Consumption' happens long before 'Peak Oil Supply' ever could.
Or
A recession only counts the period of the decline, but not the period that it takes for the economy to climb back to the previous high water mark.
A depression counts not only the decline but also the period it takes to return to the high water mark.
Or
While the excess spending has been the work of Democrats, do not think for one minute that Republicans will cut spending even if they win every election they stand in.
But he has a pet theory:
Men are oppressed. They are being emasculated. Women are engaged in some sort of collective conspiracy to transfer wealth and power from men, knowingly or unknowingly or fairly or unfairly. And men are asleep at the switch and there is disaster waiting for them. [Paraphrased by me]
He a poll out there with a very small participation, just about 500 respondents. 96% of them agree that misandry (he means anti-men bigotry by that word) is a problem and is growing. Indirect link to the poll via the blog
Direct link to poll
I posted a tiny reply there saying there is probably a self selection bias in that poll.
Someone threw a gauntlet:
Ravilyn,
Not true. This poll has gone to many feminist/misandrist sites, and this blog is not even about the subject of misandry.
Plus, the article says that anyone who thinks there is a selection bias is welcome to post this poll in a place where a lot of 'feminists' can vote on it.
You just don't like the results.
[Emphasis mine]
Well, I have done just that. This is a site full of progressives and Democrats, not particularly biased towards misogynists or misandrists. So let us see if it generates enough participation or different results in the poll.
[Edited: Fixed the broken link problem. Direct link to the poll works now.].
