Are we D.E.V.O.? Are we feckless idealists, communist nihilists?
Heck no, got yer feck right here, swingin',
R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for what's in your heart, for bein' smart,
that's where we start but we end with the heart because,
our face, our place in cyber-space is no more, no less
than a test, another shot to get it right, to demonstrate,
to represent the best we have to offer to the better idea shopper.
So put it in the hopper feed it to the chopper, all that no good nonsense
all that crap Grasshopper 'bout who be this and who ain't all that
and who'll do what too who 'cause we got a Job to do,
Warriors for the Cause McGoo, and you can't woo no true Kossack with
emotional boarding parties or frilly personal attack panties.

It ain't pretty but I'll show you my face though some won't show theirs,
can't, too scared, too desperate for attention to throw off their bitter chains,
hooked on and hookers for spite and angst, too bad, so sad.
But we are not of that ilk. We are the Hopeful Ones not yet crushed, pushing back
willful, sad, unfinished Sagas each of us, potential in motion.
We slog with boots in the mud but our eyes are always on the Stars,
just getting started and ain't no way tired. Either we win or everybody loses,
sucked back in time to a time that never was and cannot ever be.
So pull in the slack Jack and pull up your socks, untwist your knickers or not,
'Ol Massa Back In Time has his troops in order and we better form up sharp.

Courage oh Lions of Oz, let us not lack for that. We will all be called upon to stand up
for our principles and the Wizard has left the building, so we find it within
and among us or not at all. Avast, the Lubberly Bastids'll scale the cargo nets
if ye let 'em so keep a weather dude eye on the deck watches
and sleep with yer cutlass under the cat Lass or they'll be shivverin' yer timbers
before ye know it, now stow it true grit is what's called for, so show it. The gale's
gonna blow, it's sure as death there will be more and bigger storms to come
as long as we keep fightin' the fight right, right?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
