Day to day affairs fail:
Gillespie: He wasn't engaged in the day to day activities at all
Gillespie: Even if you're not making the day to day decisions
Crowley: He had nothing to do with the day to day decisions...?
Gillespie: He was not involved in the day to day decisions
Gillespie: His partners have come out and they say he was not involved in the day to day decisions
In 2005, Phil [Musser] was tapped to serve as the Executive Director of the Republican Governor’s Association (RGA) by Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA). As Executive Director, Phil reported directly to Romney and managed the day-to-day affairs of the official political entity of the nation’s 28 Republican Governors. He worked daily with governors, their top staff, White House and senior party officials.
W. Mitt Romney Background...
Political Experience
Governor of Massachusetts, 2003-2007
Chairman, Republican Governors Association, 2005-2006
Professional Experience...
As chair of the Republican Governors Association, Romney traveled around the country, meeting prominent Republicans and building a national political network
there is now proof that Romney flew back to Massachusetts for Bain Capital board meetings after 1999 when he supposedly didn’t have anything to do with Bain.
So, either Mitt wasn't really in charge of or responsible for the Republican Governors Association (he was, and he claims he was)... or Team Romney's lying about Bain and the idea that qualifying his involvement with the term "day to day" has any relevant meaning whatsoever wrt Bain's decisions to offshore jobs or Romney's responsibility for it. If the RGA had lost elections during Romney's tenure, who would have been blamed? Exactly, Romney would have. Now, of course, we have very little reason to believe that Mitt Romney wasn't involved in ANY "day to day" decisions from 99 to 02 given his record of lying and the evidence that's already public, but even so - Team Romney's own argument just doesn't work.
Your move, Willard.
