So there was Ed Gillespie on Meet The Press expounding on his new product - "I Can't Believe it's Not Retirement" - but the talking point that really caught my ear was (and I paraphrase from memory only slightly)
"The governor is meeting the standard set by John Kerry in 2004 of releasing 2 years' tax returns."
David Gregory of course lets this fly right on by but it sounded damn fishy to me. So I did something radical and, at the risk of tooting my own horn, quite original, I think. I went to that "Google" web page, and i typed-
"how many years of tax returns did John Kerry release?"
And lo and behold, look what comes up -
Mitt Romney Misled About John Kerry's Tax Returns"
And the bottom line? John Kerry released TWENTY years of his tax returns -
For each of three senate runs, Kerry released tax returns for the previous 6 years. Then when he ran for President, he released an additional two.
Twenty. Not two. Not stretching the truth. Out and out lying.
