Good morning Kossacks and welcome to Morning Open Thread.
We're here every morning at 6:30 a.m Eastern time. Feel free to volunteer to take a day - permanent or just once in awhile. With the autopublish feature you can set it and forget it. Quite often the diarist de jour shows up much later (like me), that's the beauty of Open Thread...it carries on without you! Just let us know in the comments.
I know it's my day to do a diary, but I'm tired and really can't think straight right now. Nothing bad, just an accumulation of events and traveling. I got back from Kansas City at 4 this morning, which is about the time I usually wake up before I fall asleep again. So today has been a jumble of fog.
Cathy's mom is still undiagnosed, almost two weeks after she went into the hospital. Latest idea is viral encephalitis or meningitis. Oy vey. Y'all know I have signed medical documents regarding feeding tubes, etc., but this is such a NOT clear-cut case. I don't know who is suffering more, Cathy's mom, or Cathy, who hasn't slept at home since July 2nd, and hasn't slept in a BED since the 4th.
I was in KC for a convention of the network marketing company I'm involved in. I got home from Texas Thursday night, and flew to KC Friday morning. Barely enough time to feed the pooties. I drove back with a fellow networker - big mistake, but that's another story altogether.
Standing in line one morning, I had a nice conversation with a woman who had been living in a trailer in Texas for 12 years. I told her about my story, and mentioned how the ACA, and the SCOTUS decision, has really been a blessing for me. She didn't really respond. Much later, waiting in the same line, she remarked how everyone was so well behaved and didn't litter, just like the TEA party gatherings. Hmmmmm.
That's all for now. I don't do well without sleep. Never pulled an all-nighter in college, never. So, if I'm still sleeping in the morning, I hope y'all will jibber jabber without me. If I tried to jibber jabber, I'd probably end up falling asleep on the keyboard.
