Well, you see, there's this thing on FR called "freepmail".
There was a bit of a stir a few weeks ago when moderators at Free Republic started banning members for promoting a new/rival website, after reading their (supposedly) private freepmails.

This not only didn't quell the whispering campaign, it accelerated it, as the fence-sitters were outraged that moderators were sifting through their freepmail.

The campaign became not-so-quiet, as the pragmistists (who intend to vote for Romney) started actively and openly courting mmbers who are fed up with being pounced on by the Purists every time they pointed out that even Romney (this is FR, remember) was preferable to leaving the top ballot slot empty this year.

Jim Robinson responded like a spurned lover with this little missive:

Posting the address of for those FReepers who can no longer stomach FR

Received yet another FReepmail message regarding the underground campaign to get disgruntled freepers to move on over to the latest anti-freeper site.

I'll save them the trouble of having their moles to do their underhanded dirty work underground

Especially since the mods read them at will.

If you're totally fed up with me and my absolute refusal to support the GOP-e's outright plunge into supporting the progressive/statist agenda and no longer wish to resist tyranny, please by all means go join the RINO squishes over on ( actual address: ).

But when you join them, please do us all favor and don't come back. It'll save us all a bunch of grief.

Well, it's not like they were giving you any money, were they?
Thanks for the memories. It was fun working with you when we all agreed on our pro-God, pro-Life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-liberty causes.
But you're no fun amyore, so now I'm coming after your accounts.

By the way, those caught continuing their underground campaigns against FR will be zot on sight.

I just found out yesterday that someone at that site (I think it’s that one, anyhow) is posting using the screen name Ronin.

I want everyone to know that it is NOT me. I have NOT been to that site, and I will NOT go to that site.

Lawdy, lawdy, massa Jim, don't zots me!

I have no time, inclination or reason to mingle with grouchy, whiney personalities who can’t act civilized in a civilized forum.

Free Republic has been my online home and my lifeline back to America since Whitewater days and I have no desire change that.

I was going to post a vanity to say this, but then I decided that it would be stirring up more trouble than it was worth.

This looks like a good place to clarify that, however.

Of course, he's 79 and morbidly obese...

Well, looks like the Freeperati are falling in line.
All's well that...

Wait I’m confused. I thought supporting the GOP-e on this site was frowned upon, but recently tolerated. Now we’re told we only support the GOP-e.

    something isn’t adding up.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
