I was checking out the Five on Fixed News, to see what the enemy was thinking about Sunnunu's "learn to be an American" line.  And I found myself watching the generally pointless 4th block of the program that is normally about something stupid like what Justin Bieber did.

This time though they were talking about prescription drugs so I thought I would stick around.  The "liberal" (lol) Bob Beckel was introducing the segment since he's the resident druggie. And then Eric Boiling said something flabbergasting . . .

He said (and I'm going to have to paraphrase) until I find a video to give you the actual words . . . "You know hip hop has changed in the last decade and uh they are talking about prescription drugs rather than the other stuff."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!?!  I've heard hip hop blamed for a lot of pointless, ridiculous things: violence against cops, violence at schools, clothes kids wear (as if anybody really cares) and most especially illegal drugs.   But this claim takes the absolute cake.

How in the world do you blame hip hop for a problem that is most common among the middle-aged and middle-class/wealthy population?  That's not even hip hop's demographic.  This is absolutely insane!

And I don't even like hip hop.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

BTW, if anybody can help me find a video of the Five's segment I would really appreciate it.  I'm bad at navigating the internet for media vids, at the very least.

that's where the biggest drug problems are.

That's where the parents are also most able to get the kid out of sight, out of the press, or just plain out of the court system.

It's the lower end schools and neighborhoods that get used as examples, as Cory Booker and others have suggested. But if the feds were serious about it, they'd nail a lot of kids from exclusive, wealthy schools. Even if it meant the end of political careers.

by the festival of ignorance. So I understand that another talking head, this one implanted in the owners bowels, has said something outrageously stupid.
Aside from the amazing contortions that the man must go through to put his head in his ass what is it that comples you to watch this train wreck? Is there a pool on how long he lasts with out the rebreathing device?
IS this the source of all fox news revealed?
The man is a paid shill and he is only doing what he is being paid to do. Vomit stupid on the population and hope that some of it sticks.
As the previous poster pointed out, the problem with proscribed meds being abused is by and large a problem for the middle to wealthy classes. If they really wanted to do something about it, they could, but won't. Or at least won't report it accurately.
