Fox & Frauds say Obama just released the following statement:

Starting today, the men and women of our firefighting forces, as well as their families, deserve deadly fires ... this inspires us all.  Each day, these Americans put grave danger to the lives of people they never met, which is why my nation can count on the need.

OK ... maybe this is what the statement really said:

Starting today, the brave men and women of our nation's federal firefighting forces, as well as their families, will have access to the health coverage they deserve.  Their heroism in battling the deadly fires that have impacted states across the country this summer inspires us all.  Each day, these Americans put themselves in grave danger to save the lives of people they never met, which is why I directed my administration to ensure that our nation’s firefighters can count on the care and protection they need.

Would anyone be surprised???

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Anything & everything they broadcast is cherry picked & edited.  Whole concepts, entire sentences & content are left out to get a line that will resonate w/ the bozos who watch FOX.

It's insulting to their viewers, really.

It is often more important than what's left in. When the result is manifest as a half-truth, it is likely to be worse than an outright falsehood.  A falsehood may be the result of a mistake. A half-truth is intentional and deceptive on purpose.
Yes, to lie is to disrespect the person spoken to; to assume the person is too stupid to know the truth.

The fox in fable is deceptive and sly and lazy. Surely, those who chose the moniker for the network knew that. The fox guarding the chickens is bound to eat them.  FOX is an exploitative enterprise from beginning to end, even when it identifies itself as entertainment.

  •  Did Fox News heavily push Romney's quote? (2+ / 0-)

"If you've got a business, you didn't build that, somebody else made that happen,"
I never watch, but this one was almost as bad as his ad taking the "if this election is about the economy, we lose" quote out of context. That one was so egregious, that the news media, as low as they have sunk, still felt duty-bound to report the out of context nature of the quote. They should do the same in this case.

What Romney is doing is disrespecting his voters - saying that he is counting on them on being stupid or rabid.  The snark quote you've produced by judicial editing is not very far from what Romney is doing.
