And because I still care... What's happening in Congress today?
In the House
The House today will be looking to wrap up work on the Department of Defense appropriations bill and get out of town ASAP. After all, they've been in town for two whole weeks already, and they're scheduled to be here for another two before they break for their next recess. That's four whole weeks in a row! Luckily, when they do break next, it'll be for five weeks.
In the Senate
The Senate—having failed yesterday to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to the "Bring Jobs Home Act," and that being the second failure on a motion to proceed this week—decided to break camp and go home early.
On the Radio
DemFromCT will be dropping by for a polling and issues update. And I'm trying to line up yet another subject matter expert from the community to further discuss the complexities of the corporate structure at Bain. We'll see if this works out, but if not, I still think I've got the gist of things and will be able to shed a little more light on the weirdness. Anyway, be sure to hang around afterwards for Jesse and Armando, and a full day of solid, progressive programming afterward, brought to you by the gang at Netroots Radio!
10:31 AM PT: CORRECTION: The House actually finished its work on and passed the DoD appropriations bill last night, and broke camp for home for the weekend. Huzzah!
