If you haven't already, you really should read this. It's not an easy read, it's emotional and difficult, troubling stuff.
But, with all the news focussing on the battles raging in Syria, I think it's fundamentally important that we don't forget the other tragedies occurring there in the name of the war.
Two days ago, Lauren Wolfe, Director of the Women's Media Center's Women Under Siege project, gave testimony to the United Nations in regard to sexualized violence in Syria.
PLEASE read it if you have the time, it's something which should have far wider distribution. I'm not going to do a potted version of it here as, in my opinion, that would or could do a terrible disservice to the women about whom Ms Wolfe gave her testimony.
