I won't vote for Obama unless he fixes the gun problem, said the troll.
That's what I heard a caller say on radio today. And that was on the little tiny bit of liberal/progressive radio there is out there. He might have been an idiot, but I'll bet he was a paid caller.
Talk radio is Rove's and Norquist's and the Kochs' most important tool. Turn on the national and local right wing radio blowhards and you will hear why there can still be no rational national-scale discussion of guns and gun violence in the US anytime soon.
Just like climate change and drugs and election reform, health care, immigration and voter fraud, suppression, and election theft, the economy and job creation by the 1%, the wars, and on and on.
Well-paid PR professionals are monitoring and fluidly working all angles to create and manage well-misinformed constituencies, such as the Tea Party, to enable the political bribery, distort the facts, and obstruct any progress. The 1000-plus coordinated and unchallenged talk radio stations that dutifully regurgitate their think tank-generated BS will do most of the groundwork repetition needed. They will also stimulate the screaming to keep GOP politicians and blue dogs and media in line. They will play a major part in winning and stealing more elections along the way. And they will help decide which supreme court nominees are unacceptable.
Talk radio, and Limbaugh in particular, have been getting more attention lately but the virtually unchallenged RW radio monopoly, much of which which depends on university sports for community credibility (see sig), will ensure there is no chance for a rational national discussion of this issue either.
The liberal media is out to get us, and Obama will use Aurora CO to take our guns away. This was the same bunch that tried to burn Obama and AG Holder at the stake for using Bush's 'Fast and Furious' ATF operation as a pretext for gun control. As if there hadn't been enough of these tragic massacres already.
