...and it is all about Mitt Romney answering this one question...."If you are not releasing your tax returns, did you pay taxes for the last 15 years?"
The reason for this question is made by Brian Williams, last night on NBC Nightly News to Mitt Romney....
...notice he never DENIED that he did not pay taxes....for any politician that would be the FIRST thing to DECLARE...."I did pay taxes"....but Romney did not state that at all.....
Look, if you made a lot of money, NOBODY CARES. Really, they don't. Sure the inequitable question is there, but this is a capitalistic society. People will move on from that, but not paying TAXES.
That is a whole 'nother kettle of fish.
Americans do not like tax dodgers, or those that game the system. Just as Americans are suspect to those who HIDE MONEY OVERSEAS in tax shelters/havens. The general circle of conclusion is if you are pocketing money over seas in Switzerland, you got something to hide or don't want to pay taxes.
The only ad the Obama Campaign need to run until after the conventions is: Did Mitt Romney pay any taxes? Force the campaign to answer the question. The American public want to know. Why? Because it is public knowledge that he has socked away massive amounts of monies in off shore and Switzerland bank accounts. It does not smell right and if it does not, nine times out of ten, it ain't right.
So, Obama Campaign or Priorities USA, just create a simple ad, with a simple question: Did Mitt Romney pay taxes over the past 15-20 years?
Oh, p.s., make it clear that Romney is not doing what predecessors have done in tax release. He makes a note of John McCain, but it is public record that John McCain released years of tax information while in the senate. No one made a stink about McCain because we KNEW what was in his records for decades.
