And boom goes the dynamite . . .
President Obama: "But here's the thing –- he's not asking you to contribute more to pay down the deficit, or to invest in our kids' education. He's asking you to pay more so that people like him can get a tax cut."
After a week of gaffes for Team R-money the GOP Presidential campaign is in full stumble mode. The Obama Campaign, on the other hand, has gone back to being on the full offensive. No-Drama-Obama is refusing to give Romney any breathing space, yet at the same time the Obama campaign has shown great patience when needed. They are content to let Romney ruin his own image for them while at the same time getting in as many jabs as they can, but this is the haymaker punch in my book.
Attacking the GOP by making it plain for all to see what their real number one priority is, tax cuts for the rich and tax hikes for everyone else, is the smartest move that can be made against the GOP, and the more Team Obama stays on this the better, because the truth is
the entire GOP agenda boils down to making life easier for the rich and corporate special interests at the clear expense of everyone else, and nothing says that like raising taxes on the working class so you can cut taxes for the rich.
This is the boomstick. Obama is dropping it on Romney as we speak. I wonder how Romney will do with independent voters when they find out he wants to raise taxes on the working class so he can cut them for the rich. Hell, at this point, I can't wait to see Romney try to explain this one to America at the Presidential debates.

Mitt Romney wants to raise taxes. That's right, a Republican from the 'Taxes equal tyranny' party wants to raise taxes despite all the Norquist Pledges, specifically on people who are not millionaires. Why? So he can cut taxes for millionaires, millionaires like Mitt Romney. Team Obama is framing this attack in a way that strikes at the heart of everything the GOP stands for. If this were Mortal Kombat, a voice would call out "Finish Him!" right about now.
Here is the whole quote from President Obama, courtesy of HuffingtonPost . . .
"And yet, the centerpiece of my opponent's entire economic plan is a new, $5 trillion tax cut. A lot of this tax cut would go to the wealthiest 1 percent of all households. Folks making more than $3 million a year -- the top one-tenth of one percent -- would get a tax cut worth almost a quarter of a million dollars. A quarter of a million dollars," Obama will say later in Mansfield, Ohio, according to remarks released by his campaign.
"But it gets worse. Under my opponent's plan, guess who gets the bill for these $250,000 tax cuts? You do. And you don’t have to take my word for it," he will say. "Just today, an independent, non-partisan organization ran all the numbers. And they found that if Governor Romney wants to keep his word and pay for his plan, he'd have to cut tax breaks that middle-class families depend on to pay for your home, or your health care, or send your kids to college. That means the average middle-class family with children would be hit with a tax increase of more than $2,000."
"But here's the thing –- he's not asking you to contribute more to pay down the deficit, or to invest in our kids' education. He's asking you to pay more so that people like him can get a tax cut."

This has nothing to do with strengthening America, it has nothing to do with fixing the deficit, it has nothing to do with investing in our future, the tax plan offered by Mitt Romney is only about redistributing wealth from the working class to the already rich. Mitt Romney and the GOP want to raise taxes on 99% of America so they can cut taxes for the wealthiest 1%. I, for one, have been dying for the media to start talking about this, but since they won't Team Obama is going to have to start making noise about this themselves. The fact is, Mitt Romney wants to raise taxes on non-millionaires by $2,000 per year so he can give millionaires like himself huge tax breaks. I have the feeling that the more people know about this the less likely they will be to vote Republican, and the best part is, its' the truth.
Remember when Arthur Laffer came up with the ridiculous lie that tax cuts for the rich pay for themselves? Then Bush/Cheney cut taxes on the rich twice and all we got was this stupid deficit? Then Cheney said that Reagan proved that deficits don't matter, and then suddenly a black man became President and deficits did matter, well, all of that was bullshit, and the Mitt Romney budget proves it, because tax cuts for the rich don't pay for themselves in the Romney tax plan, nope, tax hikes on the working class pay for the tax cuts for the rich, and the Obama campaign would be very wise if they did their damndest to make sure that every American knows that before election day.
It's very smart of the Obama campaign to go after this. It's the truth, and the truth hurts more than any lie ever could. A tax plan that raises taxes on teachers so we can cut them for bank CEO's after we bailed the bank CEO's out after they ruined the economy, that plan should lose, and it should lose in a landslide. Hopefully this is the first of many boomsticks that trigger such a landslide.
And Mitt Romney is the face of that incompetent bank CEO.
