Washington (CNN) -- A horse is a horse, of course, of course. That is, of course, unless that dancing horse belongs to the famous Romney family.

So, Exactly what is it that makes Ann Romney a participant in the 2012 Olympics? She didn't train the horse. She won't ride the horse. She didn't breed the horse. She probably didn't regularly feed and groom the horse.
Ann Romney probably paid some hired hand to do it all for her. Remember, this isn't even a "hobby" for the Romneys. It's a business in which they lost $77,000 just last year, and the U.S. Government and all of us Taxpayers helped them by reducing their other taxes with the deduction.
So, why is Ann Romney even at the Olympics as anything other than as a spectator. We've seen other sports and other "coaches" who had to stand out of the way and sit in the audience, because the number of coaches is limited. Is Ann the Coach?
Rafalca, the dressage horse co-owned by Ann Romney, the wife of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, competed Thursday and will continue competition on Friday at the London Olympics; the horse is in 13th place after Thursday's competition. Ann Romney began riding horses when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998 and has said the sport has helped lessen the symptoms of the inflammatory disease.
Does anybody really even know who will be riding Rafalca? The only news is that it won't be Ann Romney. Maybe, Willard could hire Sarah Palin to ride Rafalca. Now, that would be big news. I guess if Willard could hire George Bush to ride Rafalca, that would be even bigger news, but everybody knows that W is afraid of horses!
(CNN) – Ann Romney will not be riding her dressage horse Rafalca at this summer's London Olympics, but she said Monday she was still proud to represent the United States in the global competition.
"I am so excited honestly to be able to represent the United States," Romney said in a radio interview with WJR's Frank Beckmann. "I have a horse that is going to be fighting for gold in London and I am very excited about that. Wow! It has been a dream of mine for a long, long time, ever since I was a little girl."
Does anybody even care that Romney has a horse in the Olympics?
"If I were the Romney campaign I'd be hoping the Romney horse finishes fourth," said Norman Ornstein, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. "The audience for dressage is not huge, but if Romney's horse wins the gold medal that's a lot of attention."
