Following updating news on the shooting via local TV news.
Here is what's available online.
At least four people were shot just after 10 a.m. Sunday at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, and a police SWAT team entered the building before noon and brought uninjured people out of the building at 7512 S. Howell Ave.
Victims were being taken out of the temple.
Among those who were shot was the president of the temple.
The latest on TV news is that at least 20 were shot. The president of the temple is walking around and apparently going to a briefing right now. His injuries don't appear to be too bad.
Not long ago, they were saying the shooter has not been located yet, asking people to be careful and, if they see anyone suspicious, call the police.
I'll update as more comes in. Information seems to be a bit sparse right now.
10:56 AM PT: Media briefing is about to start. I'll post as it happens.
10:59 AM PT: Officer shot multiple times by shooter and is receiving medical attention at a local hospital. Expected to survive. Officer returned fire and shooter is "down on the scene". Not sure if other shooters are inside. Another update coming at 1:30, about 30 minutes.
11:22 AM PT: Some people reporting that calls from inside mentioned multiple shooters. Only one down according to police.
11:24 AM PT: Also unconfirmed reports of hostages, including children, being held hostage inside. Again, all these things are unconfirmed but the reason for little information coming out. Police are considering this a highly risk active situation.
11:25 AM PT: Ambulances are moving. Hopes are that this is a sign at least some of the scene is secured and victims can be evacuated soon.
11:47 AM PT: Officer in surgery. Condition unknown. Shooter presumed deceased.
Believed to be 4 deceased inside the temple, 3 deceased outside the temple, including the shooter.
SWAT teams are going through the temple now. No additional gunmen identified now. Unsure now if there are additional gunmen.
11:47 AM PT: No additional information coming until 3:30.
