OAK CREEK, Wis. — Police in Wisconsin say the FBI will handle the investigation of shootings at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee.
Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards says the case is being treated as a domestic terrorism case and the FBI is better equipped to handle that.
In a country averse to calling anyone other than brown Muslims a "terrorist," this is a big step in the national discourse of dealing with the issues surrounding homegrown terrorism. More information will come out about this incident soon enough.

Edit: The title says "CNN:" because that's where I originally heard it, but I had to dig a bit to find the AP/WaPo article confirming it so I could source it in the diary.
Edit 2: Here's the CNN article to match the diary title:
At an afternoon news conference, Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards said that authorities are treating the shooting as a "domestic terrorist-type incident," adding that the FBI will head the investigation.
Two semi-automatic handguns believed used by the shooter were recovered from the scene, a law enforcement source directly involved in the investigation told CNN.
