(Anaheim, CA) In a move designed to spin the weekend landing of the Curiosity rover to his advantage, GOP Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney announced his support for the Curiosity Mars Rover project, claiming it was another example of the triumph of private industry that America is still experiencing in spite of President Obama's leadership of the country.

In a statement near the California Institute of Technology mission control center, Governor Romney praised the ingenuity of the Curiosity team, saying "NASA really represents the best that American private companies can accomplish. The President probably wants you to think that the government deserves all the credit for this, but we know better my friends. This landing," concluded the former Governor, "was brought to you by the free market."
When asked for comment on the mission that was initiated during his administration, former president George W. Bush said "Well, I wanted 'em to add a pair of metal rover nuts to the back, heh hee hee."
