Hi, I opened the mailbox to find a mailer from NY Congresswoman Ann Buerkle, NY-25 hogging up space. At first glance it looked like a PAC promo, but it is actually done at taxpayer expense using Buerkle's franking priviliges.
Buerkle has her gale warnings up over the ACA, and how the Supremes have left it to Republicans to repeal this onerous, job-killing legislation.
In the very first paragraph, Buerkle plays the "it was a 5-4 decision!" meme, but the 2nd paragraph caught my attention. There were crocadile tears about "large tax increases" and , and "800,000 fewer Americans working!", How it would be "more difficult for small business to hire" with this bill in place. Jump over the orange eclair.
Good Christ, half of this claptrap was debunked months ago, but it has now become a zombie.
One trip to www.healthcare.gov answered all questions and brought the zombie lies into focus.
NY-25ers, we are an aging area and require control of healthcare costs and availability of insurance is paramount. Please do not buy into Buerkle's collection of plain old lies that simply reflect Republican sour apples about losing the ACA fight. There are too many good parts in the ACA to throw out the whole business, and I do believe that the President has said that improvements to the ACA are an ongoing project?
As for Buerkle, nice try, but lies about this will not stand, and you can take your survey and stuff it. Stop the lies.
