I'm going to keep this one brief.

As those who read me know, I am no fan of the MSM, and certainly no fan of the MSM news media, or what constitutes "journalism" in their eyes these days. For this reason, I am a little weary of all the handwringing behind Decision 2012. OK, I'm a lot weary.

I will explain why after the jump.

First, this has got to be not only the worst GOP Presidential field ever, it might be the worst field for such an office in any country in the Federation ever. I posted about 3 million times on DKos that this was Mitt's nomination to lose. He didn't win the nomination, he succeeded in not losing it, although he gave it his best effort. Along the way we got treated to some North Korean version of Survivor, where the week's previous winner (front runner) screws up bad enough where he (or she) not only votes himself off the island, he (or she) voluntarily submits to a firing squad. The MSM must have been non stop orgiastic over this, because the MSM maintains power by destroying people and God knows, this field was a target rich environment.

The three highlights of the campaign in my eyes were a) Caligula's horse making a bid for the nomination, b) a photo op of Rick Perry's flawless corn dog swallowing eating technique, straight out of the Linda Lovelace Institute of Sausage Swallowing, and c) this little gem, also featuring the Texecutioner:

If you need to know, I was a longtime death penalty supporter. This video changed my stance, that and knowing how fucked up our system of justice in the USA has become. I was embarrassed for my country when those people applauded.

So, it doesn't matter who Mitt picks for Veep, he's going to get blown out. It's not like there are any choices out there that can help him anyway. You can easily attack the voting record of any of them, another target rich environment if you will. Ryan does make it easier, but c'mon, you have a wretched public speaker going up against the most skilled pol of our generation, who is also the incumbent. They picked the youngest best looking guy to get the female vote, but at the same time alienating the seniors who need Social Security and Medicare to live on. Chicks don't always vote. Pissed off seniors vote en masse. Look, my Vegas residence is near Sun City, the big social day is usually at the Post Office, either on a Monday, or just before a rate increase. 300 old folks in line to by 2c stamps, even if they have the "forever" ones. They need some excuse to get out of the house.

I mean, let's be real. Don't get me wrong, attention must be paid to all the races, and taking back the House (which is also probably going to happen). But this is going to be a blowout, one of proportions last seen since Watergate, and the coattails are going to be long and strong from this. Do people really think the President can't destroy this guy on Election Day? I'm mean...c'mon.

So, let the media bloviating begin. I have bigger fish to fry, and so do you. I'll be around of course, but there are a number of races and issues I'll be paying more attention to (mostly in the MMJ/legal MJ area).

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
