So this comes at a great time with Romney recently selecting Paul Ryan as his running mate. Whether he likes it are not, by essential picking Ryan as his VP, Mitt Romney has essentially embrace the Ryan budget. It's now the Romney-Ryan plan. Also let's not forgot early this year he called it "marvelous". Personally I'm still surprise that Romney picked Paul Ryan, the reality is starting to settle in, but it's still somewhat surreal. Maybe because that we facetiously hope for, but didn't think it would actually happen. Forget about running to the middle by picking Ryan, Romney has no choice but to run a rightward campaign.
Expect OFA to go guns blazing when the Republicans hold their convention later this month down in Tampa. Reported by Politico, and picked up by The Tampa Bay Times,
President Barack Obama will be at the Republican National Convention in Tampa later this month — on local TV, that is.
Obama's team plunked down more than $181,000 in ad time on Tampa-area network affiliates for the last week of August to ensure that the president isn't completely out of the spotlight when Mitt Romney is crowned as the GOP standard-bearer.
Obama for America will air more than 160 spots during shows such as Dr. Phil, Undercover Boss and Bachelor Pad, including $73,720 for 49 spots on the Tampa CBS affiliate (WTSP-Ch. 10), $54,500 for 75 spots on the ABC affiliate (WFTS-Ch. 28) and $53,750 for 42 spots on the NBC affiliate (WFLA-Ch. 8), according to public disclosures posted this week to the website of the Federal Communications Commission.
I think August 11, 2012 will live in infamy in American politics. I really didn't think Romney was that disparate, but thank God he was. He wouldnt had made this pick if the race was dead even, or he was slightly ahead. Clearly this was a move to his base. Quite Frankly it doesn't matter how much him, and his allies bombard the Charlotte airwaves at the start of next month. Because I believe Romney just handed Pres. Obama Florida along with the general election. North Carolina is the only swing state where he's slightly ahead. I think that will start to change. As one Dem operative said in the wee hours this morning
Think about all the Dems running down ticket across the country. Bill Nelson already is wasting no time in his response. Claire McCaskill just got 2 Christmas presents now, Heidi Heitkamp, Shelly Berkley, Sherrod Brown etc. As well as Dems in house races. It's not a coincidence that throughout the day you saw alot of Dem candidates giving press release and most Republicans staying awfully quite. All I could say is I can't wait for Monday and the following weeks and months to begin.
