This video is really short, but it is just another indication of the man's inability to comprehend when he says stupid things.
He mentions in the video just how lame it is that the Chinese are just now getting off their lazy butts and going to the moon.
He, like most modern american conservatives, is steadfast in his opposition to any sort of government investment in important, um, stuff. Just like the rest of those ideologues, he relies on the fact that previous generations of Americans were supportive of the good things that government can do. They leech off of a time when we were willing to invest the money necessary to be a first class country in the world.
Most Republicans and conservatives are the "Third Basers." It's the old line about being born on third base, but thinking you hit a triple. They seem to think that all of this infrastructure and knowledge was just there. It didn't come as a result of smart government policy. They are all driving on the roads, using All of these things, and just generally sucking off of the hard work and dedication of decades of good government.
I have a teenage boy, and he is full of irrational, poorly thought out, inappropriately timed, and generally inappropriate commentary. He and his friends spend half of their time insulting each other in order to clamber over one another to reach the top of the social ladder.
He's a lot like Mitt Romney. It's just that Mitt Romney is a full grown man with decades of training in how to be appropriate.
I've done a lot of distance evaluation of Romney's psyche, and it's just weird. He really seems to have no understanding of social graces, other than in the most basic sense.
He doesn't realize, for instance, that it is not wise to run for president of the US, and continually poke at our international allies. His bullshit in London, his bullshit in Israel, and now he has new bullshit.
This time, he speaks out about the awesomeness of the US. The best part, however, is why the US is so awesome.
The upshot of the short video is this-
America is teh awesome. It well be even more awesomer when Mitt is in office. We are so awesome that we won more medals than anyone at the olympics. And the Chinese moon landing sure is quaint, but remember when we went there?
The space program was probably supported by Republicans in office at the time, but I guarantee you that if the space race were being held today, you can bet that the Heritage Institute, the American Enterprise Rental Car Institute, and any other right wing ideologue would have been all over any chance to do whatever they could to shut it down.
We can't even get today's Republicans to authorize a flippin' transportation bill!
Please, elect Mitt Romney. He is the only one with the ignorance of action that is necessary to pointlessly and publicly taunt our political allies, who also happen to hold quite a bit of our government's debt:-).
