One man’s opinion…
Every time I see that picture of young Mitt and the lucky sperm club standing behind him with money stuffed pockets I cringe. The boys of Bain celebrating the spoils of swooping in and gutting a struggling company with no regard to the families or communities that suffered as they wage their war for money.
Sadly, that is the Bain Capital business model and the guy who created that business model and implemented it time after time was the very cold and calculated Mitt Romney.
Ya, this is old news, but I needed a set up so I could give you my take on the Ryan pick. That pick was all about Mitt and preserving his perfected and impeccably manicured image and the family name.
I contend that Mitt picked Ryan because he needed a fall guy. Let’s be honest, things weren’t going well for him, and if you’ve been on the campaign trail for a year and half, and you’re still upside down on favorability… you got real problems coming into mid-August.
All you have to do is look back to 2008, Romney is a cold calculated SOB, but he also ain’t stupid. When you think of who got the blame for the Republican loss in 08, one Sarah Palin, not McCain, even though he made the pick, it is and always will be a loss attributed to Palin.
Ryan, the bright eyed political and social climber took the bait… and the night of November 5th, the only winner in the Republican Party will be the Romney family legacy … as for Ryan, he’ll be demonized and become great fodder for late night T.V. and the 2008 Republican Presidential loss will always be Ryan’s.
Willard Mitt Romney always wins one way or the other. The upside, he’ll disappear from national politics.
