At some point Pres Obama will hold a press conference. At that time I hope he is asked about Mitt Romney's tax returns. I would love to see the reaction of the press (and GOP) if he would basically say "When you run for President, you have to release information that you think is no one's business. Some people are asked to their tax returns. And even if you release some people want further proof. I was asked for four years to release my birth certificate. (Making me the first Presidential candidate to be requested to provide this information.) And still there are people who don't believe I was born here. I guess my advice to Gov. Romney would be to release his returns and be thankful people won't question if he actually paid taxes once those returns are released." This would be a nice two for one slap at the GOP. It would be hard for operatives to complain about the invasion of privacy (which is tradition) requested of Romney and make the GOP repudiate (or artfully dodge) the birthers in their midst. It probably won't happen, but I would like to see it.
