Last night on the Ed Schultz Show Ed went on a beautiful jag about Paul Ryan. He played a clip from from the Glenn Beck radio show that was a year or two old. Paul Ryan was Glenn's guest.
When Paul Ryan talks to his own kind of people, it's a bit chilling. Ryan and Glenn Beck agree that "progressivism is a cancer". And Paul Ryan defines progressivism, not by pointing at the the occupy movement or Barak Obama. He takes it all the way back to the beginning or the 20th century. He blames German intellectuals in Madison, Wisconsin "...at the turn of the last century."
He's probably right. According to my German American family from Wisconsin, there were some very, very smart and progressive German immigrants that settled in Wisconsin. (And by the way, I understand it's been a constant battle there with the idiotic right wing German Americans ever since. It's partially what we have been seeing play out publicly for the last few years.)
If ever someone deserved to be called a Republican radical it is Paul Ryan. He basically admits he would like to erase history back to the pre New Deal era.
The video clip also includes a bonus featurette. At minute 3:16 Glenn Beck whispers "I love you" to Paul Ryan. I'll bet he does.
The relevant portion begins at minute 2:15 and extends to approximetely 5:45. For the brave of heart that can stand the sight of Glenn Beck. You will see a side of Paul Ryan that isn't seen very often, but more people need to.
He wants an open debate with progressives? Bring it on Paul, don't hide. (sorry about the ad delay)
