Like the new headline? Yeah, this is mostly the same old notice that Daily Kos Radio is ready to go on the air. But I thought I'd try a fresh approach to grabbing some eyes and ears. I do try to include some different short clips of previous shows in each day's post, to see if we can get some more of you listening to and downloading the show. And maybe even sharing it with friends via Facebook, etc. Which, by the way, you should absolutely feel free to do. Also, these are not the droids you're looking for.

And now, the Clip o' the Day. Today's presentation: On the historic wrongness of Republicans about everything, ever.

Non-Flash link

Today's clip goes back a week or two, but when isn't it timely to remind ourselves that Republicans have been wrong forever about almost everything good that ever happened? I've talked about this before, and it makes good context for the radio clip, so take a quick look at what I'm talking about, and you'll have a much better idea of what I mean.

Put another way, I've been thinking lately that their scaremongering is the Wilhelm Scream of politics, and if you've ever heard that and had it pointed out to you, your ears will prick up every time you hear it used, and it becomes almost humorous every time you hear it again. And the real joke is how often you'll hear it.

Now when you hear Teabaggers scream "Socialism!" you'll laugh in their faces. And nothing could be better for us and worse for them than laughing in their faces with regularity.

Get it?

Well, that's what we do over at Daily Kos Radio. We weave all these disparate threads together every day. Because we've got three freaking hours to do it!

Seriously. We're a pretty good alternative, if I do say so myself. And really, I'm forced to say so myself. At least until you people start saying so. And again, I most heartily encourage you to do just that. Using Teh Social Mediaz, if necessary.

Daily Kos Radio is on the air, Monday through Friday, now from 9 a.m. to noon, ET. We start with two hours of the Kagro in the Morning show from 9-11, and then it's The Ministry of Truth, with Armando Llorens, starring Jesse LaGreca from 11-12.

This week Kagro in the Morning is in encore presentations, which is a fancy way of saying re-runs. But The Ministry of Truth is still live and all new, and now with at least 50% inadvertently broadcast background chatter!

How to Listen

Your options to listen LIVE:

  • Click on the embedded Flash player below
  • Go to and click on the embedded player or direct link there
  • Click on this direct link if you need a non-Flash player, say, for iPad or iPhone
  • iPad and iPhone users can download the SHOUTCast Radio app for your mobile device & search for "Blue Skies Radio." That's the Netroots Radio home base, and it's where you'll find our Daily Kos Radio programming. You might also try "Netroots Radio," since it appears we're transitioning to try and make things less confusing
  • For Android: try either the "StreamFurious"  or "TuneIn" apps
  • BlackBerry users, see this guide by idbecrazyif

And here's a new tip: If the player hiccups in between shows, or drops the audio between the shows, just go ahead and stop and restart it, and things should go smoothly after that.

Hear today's shows live in "encore presentation" (fancy!) from 9-12 am ET, right here:

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Dude you need to do a bit of background history in it.

Also for Twilight fans it was used in New Moon when Bella was at the movie theatre watch 'Face Punch'.

It was also used in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Pirates of the Carribean and the Fifth Element.

    A fuller list is here.

There is one that's missing from that list.  I don't remember the movie but I think it was an animated one 10-15 or so years ago and it was a mosquito flying around and it got squashed on a windshield.  Right before it went splat it did the scream in a higher pitch.

Guys, I love your programming but had to tune out today again because your sound quality is appallingly bad.  You have the gain so overdriven that it comes out completely distorted.  You need to turn inputs up and outputs down.  Also, alot of cutting in and out on what I imagine are Skype calls or VoIP calls.  Love the show, but am turned off because it is painful to listen.  Please fix it!
