Here's a Schoolhouse Rock spoof I love and have used before, and gives us some context for today's Clip o' the Day,
Privateers of the Caribbean
Non-Flash link
Today's clip goes back a ways, but since we'll shortly be thanking Ann Romney for putting the Romney tax returns back in the spotlight, now's as good a time as any to turn our thoughts to the oddity of Mitt's offshore banking.
Hiding money outside of the country might not be anything new, but hiding it in the Caribbean is a relatively new twist. Hiding things in Switzerland made sense. It's hard to get into and out of Switzerland. But the Caribbean? We have to choose to let that happen.
Seriously. It's a policy choice. And we used to make different ones. Including policy choices about grabbing up money that was just sitting around, unprotected (relatively speaking) in the Caribbean.
Just a thought!
But that's what we do over at Daily Kos Radio. And with three hours to fill, we have a lot of 'em! Give us a listen!
Daily Kos Radio is on the air, Monday through Friday, now from 9 a.m. to noon, ET. We start with two hours of the Kagro in the Morning show from 9-11, and then it's The Ministry of Truth, with Armando Llorens, starring Jesse LaGreca from 11-12.
This week Kagro in the Morning is in encore presentations, which is a fancy way of saying re-runs. But The Ministry of Truth is still live and all new, and now with at least 50% inadvertently broadcast background chatter!
