Paul Ryan claims to be a Catholic. Yet his ideas on how to disperse and distribute national wealth has been denounced as immoral and contrary to Catholic teaching, both by Catholicbishops and by Catholic nuns.
Now, we know that Paul Ryan (despite his recent protestations to the contrary is a big, big, big fan of Ayn Rand, the atheist Social Darwinian who's response to the inhuman brutality of Communism is to essentially promote communism in inverse, denying and denigrating such unimportant human emotions as altruism, compassion, love, empathy, forgiveness - you know, those things that Jesus taught, in favor of egoism, revenge, self-centeredness, brilliantly shown by the "heroic" Howard Roark's dynamiting of someone else's property or Ayn Rand's admiration for serial killers.
But while all this is pretty evil and stuff, what does it have to do with Satan, other than the tangential fact that serial killers and Satan both fall under the "evil" tag?
But what does all this have to do with Satan?
Well, let's ask Anton LaVey, the founder of the Church of Satan! I think he'd be pretty knowledgable on what a "pro-Satan" ideology would look like.
"I give people Ayn Rand with trappings" - Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan (to Kim Klein of the Washington Post, 1970)
So, is Anton LaVey lying? What does he have to lie about?
What about the website of the Church of Satan?
Objectivism, the philosophy of Ayn Rand, is an acknowledged source for some of the Satanic philosophy as outlined in The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey.
And what is this philosophy? Among other things, it contains;
. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!
In short, you have no obligation to "abstain" for the sake of others, your society of your planet.
Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!
Only the rich and powerful deserve kindness, Christian love is wasted on the "ingrates" that are the poor, sick and old.
Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!
Only the wealthy and powerful are responsible, everyone else are psychic vampires.
Sound like any set of ideologies you know? Especially the first one. That can't be talking about, say, having a lot of money and indulging in luxuries (or just in having money) rather than giving up some of it to make your country stronger, because, like, that doesn't matter and stuff. Poor people? They're just ingrates, or moochers, or whatever derogatory term you wish to call them to suggest they made themselves poor, and thus you don't have any obligations towards them. Taxes? Unjust impositions on the heroic master-class (a master-class that was proven to be such by their ability to make as much money as possible while doing as little as possible). Obligations to society? Those don't exist, so it's perfectly okay to strip away "the public good" (both conceptually and literally) for greater profit, because the individual is literally, God, and the "lesser peoples" are either obstacles to be rolled over, moochers to be cast off, or fodder to be farmed. So when you see Ryan trying to strip healthcare away from poor and old people, or to make it easier to send middle-class jobs overseas, or Mitt Romney campaigning to make it so sick people (er, people with "pre-existing conditions) can't get the care they need to live, or for self-styled guardians of freedom to argue that "freedom" requires us to unchain greedy and sociopathic banking institutions, just remember from where this ideology springs.
Paul Ryan and the Republicans claim to be pious Christians, but it seems that the only parts of the Bible that seem to legitimize oppression, restriction and pain - never the parts about turning the other cheek (in fact, Satanism says to SMASH the cheek of someone who strikes your cheek; Randianism says it's okay to commit terrorism against people who don't adhere to your word in every detail), or the part about the rich finding it very very hard to get into heaven,, nah, being a Christian means hating gay people and contraception.
While claiming to be Christian, the American Right, in its words and actions, can only be described as Satanic in nature, and thus, a vote for the GOP is a vote for darkness, despair and evil. I am not being hyperbolic, what "conservatism" represents can only be described as such.
