The 9th Commandment
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour
Our republican/conservative neighbors, many claiming to be such pious Christian, have been failing miserably with regards to the 9th Commandment.
Republican "Islamophobia" is a 24/7non-stop outpouring of false witness against Muslims and pretty much anybody who isn't white (with short hair, pink Izod shirt, khakis, and penny loafers), and it is CLEARLY resulting in an increase of assaultive hate crimes against them.
Shootings, desecration of Mosque sites, Mosques burnt down, a firebombing of a home, an 'acid bomb" (?!) attack against a school - violence against Muslims does seem to be on the rise and I feel it's quite directly due to the ongoing 'Islamophobia': hate speech of republicans. From elected representatives, like that ,a href="http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/08/13/679561/gop-rep-joe-walsh-muslims-are-trying-to-kill-americans-every-week/">Scumbag Joe Walsh to Michael 'the Savage' Wiener. It is an unfettered outpouring of hate delivered with fingers crossed some nutjob will go hurt or kill some target of their derision.
I am not alone in my belief: Muslim group: Republican ‘Islamophobia machine’ encouraging violent attacks
About 50 people were inside the Lombard school building for Ramadan prayers when the acid bomb exploded, according to area media. The unknown attacker reportedly filled a 7-Up bottle with acid and other materials, then threw it at a window. Nobody was injured, but worshipers said they heard a loud explosion when the bomb went off. CAIR asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Tuesday morning to immediately begin searching for the individual responsible.
For Illinois Muslims, Monday night’s acid bombing marks the second attack on a Muslim-affiliated installation in less than a week. Police arrested 51-year-old David Conrad last weekend after he allegedly opened fire on a mosque in Morton Grove, Illinois, narrowly missing a security guard as worshipers prayed inside. The FBI said it would leave the investigation of the mosque shooting to local law enforcement.
I want to insert the 'opinion' of
Tony Perkins of the FRC who says
Southern Poverty Law Center gave ‘license’ for shooting
Though Perkins said he wanted to “be very clear” about the fact that it was 28-year-old Floyd Lee Corkins II, of Herndon, Virginia was responsible for the crime, “I believe he was given a license to do that by group such as the Southern Poverty Law Center who … labeled us a hate group because we defend the family and we stand for traditional, Orthodox Christianity.”
“I think it’s time for people to realize with the Southern Poverty Law Center does with their reckless labeling of organizations that they disagree with,” Perkins told Fox News host Megyn Kelly. “They are responsible for creating an environment that led to yesterday’s shooting.”
That's pretty goddamned funny, given that the SPLC is known as a sterling ANTI-VIOLENCE organization AND if you take Tony's words and replce SLPC with "FOX" or "HANNITY" or "LIMBAUGH" or "O'REILLY" or "The Savage Weiner" or "Dr. Laura" or
Joe Walsh (R-scumbag, not the famous guitarist).
These people provide a non-stop 24/7 outpouring of anti-Islam rhetoric and thinly veiled incitements to encourage some people that acting out ones violent impulses on THESE people is ok because THESE PEOPLE are trying to hurt Americans.
Walsh, last week, provides an outstanding example:
:Muslims Are ‘Trying To Kill Americans Every Week
“One thing I’m sure of is that there are people in this country – there is a radical strain of Islam in this country -– it’s not just over there –- trying to kill Americans every week. It is a real threat, and it is a threat that is much more at home now than it was after 9/11,” Walsh said.
Walsh went on to claim that radical Islam had found its way into the Chicago suburbs, including some that he represents.
“It’s here. It’s in Elk Grove. It’s in Addison. It’s in Elgin. It’s here,” he said.’
Clear incitement, if you ask me. "They are here to kill and they have invaded our neighborhoods". Friggin Paul Revere, he is.
So just a day or two after this horseshit
On Friday night, there were two pellet-gun shots on a mosque in the Chicago suburb Morton Grove. No one was injured, and 51-year-old David Conrad has been charged for shooting on the outer wall of the building as people prayed inside.
That's a pretty concrete cause and effect reaction and it is played out almost every week and it has been played out several times in the past couple of weeks.
From Chicago, lets go to Florida where Muslim group pleads for FBI help after family’s home hit with firebomb. Nobody was hurt in this attack, but throwing FIREBOMBS is rather frowned upon, at least generally. Given that the target home is owned by SCARY MUSLIMS some person felt it was ACCEPTABLE to throw a FIREBOMB. Which more or less has to make it a hate crime: I am unsure why we have to involve the FBI to tell us what color the sun is. Or to tell us what a firebomb thrown at a house filled with non-white non-Christians might be an act of 'bias'. While we waste time determingin if that label fits or not, more anti-Islam, hate crimes are happening.
In fact, 8 attacks in 11 days should be able to tell the FBI there is both a bias and an uptick in the expression of that bias.
given a chain of incidents at mosques across the country over the past two weeks, the Morton Grove shooting doesn’t appear to be an isolated event. In the past 10 days, there have been eight cases of vandalism and attacks on houses of worship across the nation, including the deadly shooting spree in a Sikh gurdwara in Wisconsin on Aug. 5. The other seven incidents were mosque defacements, which have sent a tremor of fear through America’s Muslim community.
There is no need to provide an 'exhaustive'collection of these stories.
They ARE happening. Theyt ARE GOING TO CONTINUE because Republican hate speech and stochatic terrorism is pretty much protected free speech according to the Constitution and they are NOT going to 'tone it down', it
'plays well' to a significant racist sub-population (teabaggers, wingnuts, general racists of all stripes) who dig into their pockets and contribute money to these stochastic charlatans.
Tony Perkins little tirade is a very, very lame attempt to stick the SPLC with the charges that I and others are saying lay directly at the feet of Republicans, teabaggers and other white-pride nitwits, from elected officials like Joe Walsh and a lot of other republican politicians to the talking heads of hate-media.
Republicans and their ilk WANT unhinged Americans to commit acts of violence against their targets.
Somebody, somehow, has to make them stop: I think a word from the president condemning this would be good (as well as cost-effective - shouldn't cost much).
In lieu of action from our elected leaders, I say blame Repubs and the baggers and the racists for these acts loudly every single time these things occur.
And have no illusions: more ARE on the way: as Obama steams towards re-election, these incidents, I predict, will simply increase as the craziness of the election wears on.
You should get some good practice blaming them for violent outbursts between now and November, sorry to say.
