What's this about no president ever being re-elected with unemployment above 8%?
That fact used to scare me. That was months ago; before Romney started running his campaign for president. The only thing that scares me now is the prospect of Romney actually being President, and Ayn Ryand being Vice.
I can almost see Romney standing on the debate stage, pulling a Bob Dole on steroids: his own elitist, entitled version of "Where's the outrage???"
....as Mitt stands next to Obama in utter disbelief at the direction of the proceedings, melting down and just shouting: "Unemployment is over 8%!!! What the blazes is wrong with you people!!! Look at him!! LOOK AT HIM!!! I'M ANGLO-SAXON, FOR CHRISSAKES!!! LOOK AT HIM!! HE'S BLACK!!! HE'S BLACK, GOSHDARNIT!!! BLACK!!!"
...as the man who offers us nothing, hangs his head; and the Romney campaign turns out the lights.
So how the hell is Obama going to beat this unprecedented 8% unemployment barrier?
It's not just the alternative option being so weak and pathetic.
Perhaps we're not as stupid as the GOP would want us to be. Perhaps people know that President Obama has had no support and indeed only opposition, in every endeavor to help this economy. Perhaps more American people than the GOP could've ever imagined are dreaming of how great our economy and our country would be right now, if the republicans would've only gotten the fuck out of the way...or god forbid, helped...even just a little bit.
Meanwhile, there are so many unprecedented accomplishments that occur every day. People in our great country make "firsts" happen all the time!
Barack Obama won the presidency in 2008: The first African-American President!
Quite the unprecedented achievement.
My money's on Obama.
