Ever wonder why a senior citizen would support Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan after they've promised to end Medicare as we know it and replace it with a voucher system?

Well, watch the following, and find out!

Here's a transcript for those without video:

ANNOUNCER: The following is a message from a concerned senior citizen.

ELDERLY WOMAN:  Barack Obama claims that the Romney-Ryan budget would end Medicare as we know it and replace it with a voucher system that will cost future senior citizens close to $6,000 more a year.

As a senior citizen you know what I say?  Good!  As long as I got mine!

See, it only effects those currently under 55.  So, what do I care?
I don't care if my children get Medicare!  They put me in a nursing home and they never come to visit me!

What do I care if they can or can't see a doctor?  To me, my children are already dead!

Also, my grandchildren are a bunch of brats who track mud everywhere and broke my ceramic hippo collection.  Screw em!  Let those entitled millennials fend for themselves!

I'm a senior citizen who's perfectly happy that future generations are worse off than me... and I'm voting for Mitt Romney.

MITT ROMNEY: I'm Mitt Romney, and I approve this message.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Too bad the voice is of a fake senior citizen (0+ / 0-)

Would have been more effective if they got a real senior to speak.

Unfortunately that made the ad lose credibility.

    Just saying...

  •  Send Biden to the Villages (0+ / 0-)

Thousands of voters--most of whom think they are Republicans. Explain this to them.

If they go into a nursing home for more than 3 months, they are on Medicaid--or maybe, unless Romney/Ryan get elected.

Then the state takes everything they have. Bushie changed the "look back period" to 5 years, so they can't give anything away the kids.

If Romney is elected and they end up in a nursing home for any period of time. If they want anything to give to their children, they lose that option.

    Simple--clean--and a choice.
