So, did everyone hear the one about the genius in Port St. Lucie Florida who left his car unlocked with a loaded 40 caliber pistol and a throwing knife inside? A "burglar" came along and "broke into" the car taking the gun and knife. The owner of the car, the gun and the knife is not out anything since the "thief" left the gun, sans bullets, and knife in a bag by the owner's back door. There were messages on the the bag. On one side was written "LOADED GUN UNLOCKED CAR = STUPID. One the other side was written "LOTS OF CHILDREN IN AREA". Investigating officer Sgt. Frank Sabol noted that the person responsible could face charges included armed burglarly and theft. The owner remarked for the TV cameras that he had been distracted recently which is why he left the car unlocked. Sgt. Sabol wisely observed “If you take away the opportunity and if you take away the items, then you pretty much eliminate the crime, if the gun wasn’t in the car, if the car was locked, then this crime wouldn’t have occurred.” Two of the 3 characters in this story don't seem to contribute a lot of positive genes to the pool.
