I just saw this on nfl.com and thought I'd share it:
This is huge. And it shows how the strength of the GLBT community can influence things. It turns out that the SF Giants have already done this as well, but this is the first NFL team to have come out for the LGBT community.
It happened because a fan started a petition drive. Now that the precedent has been set, maybe it's time to organize drives in other NFL cities. I am not gay and so I don't presume to speak for those who are, but I will say that I imagine that if I were, the sight of some of the highest profile and most undeniably masculine men there are making clear that they won't dismiss me as a sissy would boost my confidence just a bit. I hope that I am right.
