I continue to be against war with Iran, and I thank the brave members of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), for providing some push back on the drum beat of war.

Nice little article on the human cost of war with Iran, diary title was tongue in cheek.
War though, would be a disaster on all fronts, I think she puts the rest better than me so check it out.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

they will take the war to our homeland, mark my words.   We are a ripe fat target for the professional military of Iran, if it comes to that (which I still believe will not happen.)    I expect that if we attack their nuclear sites, they will attack ours.

I hear some plaintive bleating. But I can't see war with Iran any time soon. They hold some pretty decent aces at present. No bombing raid can kill their nuclear program although it could eliminate most of their infrastructure, but then the world needs their - last time I checked - 2 million barrels a day of oil. Of course, that may have changed. In any case, war with Iran would send oil prices to the moon. So, with the world economy the way it is, I can't see the US acting. And to do what exactly? There is only one wild card in all this and that's Israel. Rightly or wrongly, Israel believes that a nuclear-armed Iran spells death for Israel. I don't agree but then I am not an Israeli. So, ask yourselves this. In Israel's position what would you do? My guess is that Iran will continue right to the edge of nuclear capacity. They will not test a device but they will do everything but. And the world will learn to live with it.

The universe may have a meaning and a purpose, but it may just specifically not include you.

..."tongue in cheek" or not. People being murdered by American troops isn't a laughing matter. Fuck the "gas prices".

do you have any better ideas for raising awareness
about the perils of war with Iran?
      I hope you do.
America's callousness to the poor in the middle east is the whole point.
