He was touted by the Village as a superstar who would electrify the country, but the markets have spoken, and surprise, surprise, once again, the Beltway media is wrong.  Ayn Ryan's speech tanked in the ratings, plummeting nearly 50% when compared to Sarah Palin's acceptance speech 4 years ago.

Ryan Lays An Egg

The ratings just rolled in and only 20.49 million viewers watched last night's acceptance speech, a stunning 46% decline from Sarah Palin's acceptance speech, which drew 37 million viewers.

HOLY SHIT!  A 46% drop!  SELL! SELL! SELL!

Still da Queen

OUCH!  That has to hurt.  Half the ratings of the Half-Governor!?!?!?

These number prove Ayn Ryan is Box Office Poison.  What the Corporate Media elites in Georgetown don't get is Real America doesn't want to end Medicare as we know it and give another massive tax cut to billionaires like me.

The highly promoted Beltway idol, the hero of the teabaggers, couldn't even electrify a pot of coffee.  If he was a tee vee show, he would have been yanked off the stage midway through his speech.

Don't worry Paul, just like a junk bond, I'm sure Halperin and Fixxed News will cook the books to make you look good to gullible billionaire investors.

Combined ratings for the Ryan acceptance speech at 10 PM on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fixxed News, CNN, MSNBC = 20,049,589  (source).

Combined ratings for Sarah Palin's 2008 acceptance speech at 10 PM on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fixxed News, CNN, MSNBC = 37,000,000  (source).

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
