Well not really for those in and around Charlotte, if they had Channel 3 on they would have caught a short report just a short while ago, video and report not yet up at their site but the following is:
Podium, DNC stage unveiled at the Time Warner Cable Arena
Aug 31, 2012 - Some Charlotte residents and students have gotten their first look at the inside the Time Warner Cable Arena for a sneak peek at the set-up for the Democratic National Convention.
The Democratic National Convention Committee hosted a Community Open House on Friday morning, welcoming the first people to see the convention podium.
DNCC CEO Steve Kerrigan and Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx led students from the North Carolina School for the Deaf (NCSD) on a tour of the innovative convention hall and explained the significance of this year's convention.
"Charlotte residents have been great partners throughout the convention planning process, and opening the doors to Charlotteans today is just one more way that we are engaging more Americans than ever before," said Kerrigan. "Today's community open house is a thank-you for all that Charlotte has done to make this convention a success."
A time-lapsed video from inside the convention was posted online on Friday - showing the transformation of the arena into the DNC home. read more>>>

All work done with local contractors and local trades people, the kinda work this country was once known for in many many area's, boy we've lost so many trades over the years. The kind needing brains and braun, no piece of paper to claim intelligence, and the kind that aren't sharing in what their labors bring to the executives or investors!
In the report given they said the stage will be smaller then one would expect, bringing a closeness of those speaking and those attending.
If they post up that report and video I'll add to this.
Meanwhile, while the Romney was invading the clean up in the Gulf Coast States, flooding still going down, and not mentioning the Wars nor the Troops or Families of last night,
From a friend:
During his 37 minute acceptance speech for the nomination, Mitt Romney failed to mention Afghanistan or our troops once, but he sure threatened war with Iran and to put Russia in their place...this man who DOESN'T HAVE ONE VETERAN IN HIS ENTIRE FAMILY TREE! Tell me again, who cares for our troops? Who is working to make their lives better?
Thank you, First Lady. Thank you, President Obama! -Debra

Improving Access to Mental Health Services for Veterans, Service Members, and Military Families
31 August 2012 - Since September 11, 2001, more than two million service members have deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, many of them serving with unprecedented duration and frequency. Long deployments and intense combat conditions require optimal support for the emotional and mental health needs of our service members and their families, and ensuring that they receive the support they deserve is a top priority for the Obama Administration.
That's why today, President Obama signed an Executive Order that will help the federal government better meet the current and future demand for mental health and substance abuse treatment services for our troops and veterans, as well as their families.
Building on the ongoing efforts to expand these services, today's Executive Order: read more>>>

Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes sat down to discuss what to expect from the speech the President will deliver to service members there about winding down the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, our nation’s obligation to stand by those who fought and their families, and the ways his administration is delivering on that obligation as troops transition back to civilian life.
To mark two years since the end of combat in Iraq, and with troops still serving in Afghanistan, take a moment to show your support for those that serve and their families. Here’s how you can participate. read more>>>
