Mrs. Dood and I were in Prairie du Sac earlier today to witness the Wisconsin State Cow Chip Tossing Championships. I never would've believed that bulls**t could fly that far and that fast… but, then again, we still have Scott Walker as the governor here in Wisconsin... These people were rank amateurs.
As we wandered around the neighborhoods in Prairie du Sac and Sauk City, we were disturbed by all of the yard signs that are already cropping up in the area in support of Thompson, like the one above. It becomes even more disturbing when you consider all of the megabucks that will be hosed into Wisconsin from Rove and the Koch brothers to buy this Senate seat.
A bit of personal history… When I first met Mrs. Dood, she was annoyingly conservative, but our marriage still worked very well. Over the years, she has gradually come to the point that she really does believe that Republicans are just as crazy as I've been trying to tell her for two decades. I sort of dragged her into caring even more about politics when we recently moved to Wisconsin, and I am proud that she's become a big supporter of Tammy Baldwin.
(More after the orange cheese curd)
So anyhow, here we are walking along, sort of despairing over all of these yard signs and talking about realistically what are Tammy's chances with the Cheese-head Mafia behind Thompson. And then... It's one of those little instances in life when you smile to yourself and you really know that you love someone… My wife, forever frowning and critical of the artistic subterfuges that I'm constantly committing online, says to me, "You know, it's a shame that there isn't some way that you could just have a whole bunch of "A" stickers that you could put on these signs..." Wow. From my wonderful wife who would never think about cheating or stealing... nothing unethical.... ever!
Not that I would ever suggest to ANYONE to indulge in anything illegal, but in actuality it's my wife's suggestion. Just a nice, wide, black permanent marker... or, even better, a spray can...three quick strokes... and, VOILA!
Now I never suggested this... my wife did...
