Here's an app that kicks some Voter Registration ass!
Via Wired.com I found this page with a Link to this code...
From the website...
"Would-be voters simply fill out a form, and the app creates a PDF unique to their state that they can print out. Citizens of states that allow online registration are taken directly to the proper online form. The code is released under a custom license from the DNC that allows wide re-use of the code, so long as laws aren’t broken.
Just a few hours later, the Obama re-election campaign debuted its own version, a point-and-click customizable voter registration form that anyone can embed on their website or in a blog post. Like the open source version, the widget creates a PDF that a citizen needs to mail in or directs them to their state’s official online form.
... this widget is powered by the Obama campaign and presumably shares a would-be voter’s contact information with the campaign. The campaign’s privacy policy says it uses information provided to its site to send newsletters, to serve ads and to help people find their polling place."
which, when pasted on your blog looks like...
Which looks clean and simple, and will look sweeet on your blog!
But, there's one detail not to be overlooked...
when you click the Link to go to the page with the Code to copy and paste onto your blog...
well, they left out the iframe close tag, so... you need to add that yourself.
No big deal. Just Copy and Paste the code as is and Paste it onto a blog post on your blog. After you paste it, add " < / iframe > " (without the spaces and without the quotes) at the very end of the code string and it will look most awesome! And work even better!
Here's what it looks like on our blog... Click this Link to view the app
With this little ditty on our own individual blogs we should be able to kick some online (Facebook) Voter Registration ass!
GOTV!
