Oh Lord, just what we need, yet more infiltration of the right wing into the mainstream media. A major news network has hired the generator of Republican talking-points as an "objective" analyst for its election coverage.
In addition to crafting language favorable to conservatives and unfavorable to liberals that the right wing dutifully disseminates to politicians and talking-heads, Luntz is also the man who organized the now-infamous meeting that occurred on the night of Obama's inauguration, dedicated to making the man who had just taken the oath of office a one-term president. Current Republican nominee for Vice-President, Paul Ryan, was one of the attendees at that dinner.
From crooks and liars:

Luntz had organized the dinner - telling the invitees, "You'll have nothing to do that night, and right now we don't matter anyway, so let's all be irrelevant together." He had selected these men because they were among the Republican Party's most energetic thinkers - and because they all got along with Luntz, who could be difficult.
So exactly what kind of fair and objective commentary will Luntz be expected to provide for the viewers of CBS News, given his close ties to the Republican party and the conservative movement?
