Well, I respect kos readers to not be totally surprised by this but I was listening to
Dinesh on book tv and I was like wow! what a load of crap!!  I only caught the last few minutes of it, but so much crap was there, there's really no excuse to give him some money
and watch his movie, even if it's just to complain about it more here.

         Ok so central thesis:
Obama wants America smaller multicultural, happier sending money over seas, having small military, so Americans can have little gardens of petunias and retire in small obscurity, while we're there we can stop taking up more resources per person than say  India.  This is proven because Obama traveled a lot when young. As far as focusing on helping the poor in other countries, there's some evidence Mitt Romney actually done that, by taking apart american factories piece by piece and sending our jobs there.
         Evidence gutting the military: None.
here's a chart of world wide military spending no one comes close, no ones gonna come close to american military spending.

There is no evidence at all that Obama's going to meaningfully reduce Americas overall resource utilization or turn america into a third world country. So there.

Oh then he raises this hopeless canard that white liberals love Obama because well, it fixes
white insecurities about racism. It illustrates someone so out of touch they can't even imagine an alternative worldview without presuming it's based in some preposterous character flaw. Obama is hell bent on destroying america he steadfastly believes,
but Ryan's budget actually does take down medicare replaces it with vouchers, and guts
medicaid on which the old depend for chronic care. Throwing Grandma over the cliff is too charitable an image for their plan. War with Iran? That's another of Romney's real winner
plans. Don't get me started that we helped him pay for his little ballet horse. Then Romney pretended to not care when it was in the olympics, whatever you fake weird martian.

Finally, Dinesh had these weird questions from his screw loose audience, like "we know Obama wasn't american", and "When Obama elects himself for a third term", if he had any shred of decency he would smack that crap down. He has none. He's a coward, and an asshole.
 The world needed to know.
good night

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

of his birthplace. He knows what imperialism did to India. He knows the brutality it visited upon his countrymen. But he doesn't give a flying fuck.

He found his ticket out and he's spent his entire career making sure everyone knows that he wants a return to those days - and that he thinks so little of Indian culture that he wishes the British had had the guts to stick it out for the long run and demolish his people if that's what it took to keep them under the imperial thumb.

And he's disgusted that people like Barack Obama refuse to join him in this loud, childish crusade against allowing different cultures to coexist. He doesn't care that the President has presided over the same imperial war machine as all his predecessors. He is practically demanding that the President speak out against his own heritage and express similar disgust that someone in his ancestry might have had the gall to fight for their people instead of playing their proper role as doormats for the most brutal kind of imperialism.

      •  A bit too narrow a reading of his pro-colonialism. (2+ / 0-)

The common thread running through all of his work is that Western tradition - conservatism - should dominate the planet. Control of women's reproductive organs is but one aspect of that tradition. He believes colonialism should return, so we can go back to raping and pillaging the rest of the planet in the name of his values.

I don't really have an opinion on whether he sold his people out for the cash or for the peace of mind that comes with joining The Winning Team (The West).

I think he's clever, but my instincts tell me he's a simple grifter at his core.

Very nice. I think you do explain why D'Souza et al felt the need for making just such a documentary.

The problem is that Western tradition (taken here as a reference for what you used it) seems to be something people do like, from Jesus  to Magna Carta to Enlightenment to the current state of things (skipping all the crap in between).

And you really touch on a very important point here

I don't really have an opinion on whether he sold his people out for the cash or for the peace of mind that comes with joining The Winning Team (The West).
The issue is deep, and people will miss the idea, but who cares. Here's a question. What would a UCBerkeley student say when seeing bunch of people from another tradition queuing up behind a truck selling authentic US jeans?

"Dinesh D'Souza" sounds like a made up name -- equivalent of "Juan Epstein" or "Helmut Bordeaux" or "Brendan Macguillcutty Brezhnev"

There are a lot of Pakistani Muslims who infiltrated into India over the past few decades.

Could this so-called "Dinesh D'Souza" be one of these Wahabi fundamentalists who managed to make it through to the USA to spread their contagion?

Let us not forget that this "Dinesh D'Souza" worked for the administration that secretly provided weapons to Iran and also armed, trained, and funded Islamic fundamentalists.

Was "Dinesh D'Souza" behind Reagan's decision to dedicate a space shuttle to Islamic fundamentalists?

Isn't it just a coincidence that "Dinesh D'Souza" attacks the President who had OBL killed in Pakistan?

What is his relationship with the Nawab of the GOP?

We need answers to these questions.

Why shoudn't we demand to see his birth certificate as a first step?

I am disappointed that D'Souza has declined to put his considerable intellectual talents to work and instead has relied on lies to accomplish his notoriety.  So sad. . .

The far right wing of the republican party seems to embrace two extreme immigrants for their philosophical underpinnings - Ayn Rand, a Russian atheist, and Dinesh D'Souza, an Indian Christian fundamentalist. Why is that?
