Are these guys for real? We are 60 DAYS away from an election and Romney STILL can't give specifics about what tax loopholes he'll close.

From This Week With George Stephanopoulos:

When Stephanopoulos asked him why he has refused to be more specific about which loopholes he would plug, Ryan suggested that it's because he and Romney don't yet know. "George, because we want to have this debate in the public," he said. "We want to have this debate with Congress. And we want to do this with the consent of the elected representatives of the people and figure out what loopholes should stay or go and who should or should not get them."

Meanwhile, host David Gregory tried to get some specifics out of Romney in an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press." "Give me an example of a loophole you would close," Gregory said, after trying and failing several times to coax the candidate into giving specifics.

Romney couldn't give one. "Well, I can tell you that people at the high end, high income taxpayers, are going to have fewer deductions and exemptions," he said. "Those numbers are going to come down. Otherwise they'd get a tax break. And I want to make sure people understand, despite what the Democrats said at their convention, I am not reducing taxes on high income taxpayers."

The truth of the matter is HE DOES KNOW WHAT TAX LOOPHOLES HE WILL CLOSE. They will be the ones that affect the 1% the least while fooling the low information voters that he actually did something.

And, once again, the middle class will bear the brunt. These people are so transparent in their intentions it's sickening.

Mitt - how do you sleep at night knowing how disingenuous, callous and destructive your policies will be? Is becoming President of the US such a drug that you're willing to destroy all of us to benefit you? I'm afraid I already know the answer to this question.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  They know which tax cuts they want to close (0+ / 0-)

but the larger point is the true impact and the lie that Romney will not give tax cuts to upper incomes.

According to Republicans, the top incomes are the job creators. Romney has stated that the top incomes will be lowered, but also claims they will not pay less.

So, using Republican 'logic', if top incomes will realize no net tax reduction, how will the economy grow?

More importantly, if the top incomes will have no net tax reduction as Romney claims, why reduce the top rate at all?

  •  Romney jumps shark, goes full Palin... (0+ / 0-)

He can't seem to give specific details on anything, always says he'll do it after the election.

The American Parasite sounds exactly like the American Airhead in her interview with Katie Couric when she couldn't name any magazines or newspapers she reads.  Her response, "I'll get back to you on that" was no different.

We just got out of a war (Iraq) that should never have been started, one which burned our economy.  We can't afford another airhead eager to start a 3rd (Iran) or a 4th (Syria) war, or willing to rattle the cage with Russia or China.

It takes a conscience and empathy to to have one's sleep disturbed. I think he has neither.

  •  It's worse. They really believe this 'job creator' (0+ / 0-)

These Ayn Randians are true believers. They don't want to slash taxes on investment income to zero just for their own personal gain (that's just, er, a fringe benefit).

No, they really believe it. They really, truly believe that slashing taxes for the 1% will miraculously revive the U.S. economy, because it means their investments, and those of all the millionaires they hang out with, will expand their fortunes even faster. They'll be able to buy another Gulfstream III, another yacht, and two more homes. And that'll employ another 20-30 servants, deckhands and aircraft mechanics easy.

They really truly believe that trickle-down, and deregulation, are the only way to Galtian paradise. And that the 'takers and the parasites' deserve to starve to death.
