This just in:
"More than 170 of us at a Bain Capital-owned Sensata plant in Freeport, IL, are facing the outsourcing of our jobs to China.
Bain created Sensata Technologies in 2006, buying our plant that develops, manufactures, and sells sensors and controls for major auto manufacturers like Ford and General Motors.
Over the last few months, we’ve tried to contact Mitt Romney—who still profits from Sensata via his blind trust portfolio—with a 35,000-signature strong petition, frequent protests outside the plant, and trips to nearby campaign offices.
In July, the Freeport City Council unanimously passed a resolution calling on Romney to come meet with us and use his influence at Bain to intervene on our behalf. When Romney didn’t respond, we went directly to him at the RNC Convention in Tampa.
Now we’re coming together with our fellow workers and Freeport community members. Starting tomorrow, September 12th, we’re camping out at the county fairgrounds in front of the Sensata plant until Mitt Romney comes to Freeport and stands with us to save our jobs.
