Anyone who follows politics in America knows all about Republican puppet master Karl Rove and his bag of dirty tricks. One of his favorite moves has always been to identify the weaknesses of his own candidate, and then attempt to paint his Democratic opponent in that same light. Paul Ryan did exactly that today at the Voter Values Summit when he said this about President Obama:
“And we all know this; no politician is more skilled at striking heroic poses against imaginary adversaries. Nobody is better at rebuking non-existent opinions. Barack Obama does this all the time and in this campaign, we are going to call him on it.”
As he said that, I couldn’t help but think he was talking about Mitt Romney:
“no politician is more skilled at striking heroic poses against imaginary adversaries.”
It started during the primaries and has continued during the general election. We’ve seen Mitt standing oh so strong against the evil empires of China and Russia. What’s next on his list, speaking out against the growing forces of Nazi Germany? And of course there’s the imaginary Obama that Romney campaigns against all the time. The
imaginary President who has been soft on defense, hates the private sector, is responsible for more debt than all humans ever in existence combined, and wants a country that is entirely reliant on big government. In retrospect, Clint Eastwood should really be forgiven for talking to an imaginary Obama in a chair because Republican leaders have been talking about an imaginary Obama for the last four years!
The second part of what Paul Ryan said is just as revealing… But again, about Mitt:
“Nobody is better at rebuking non-existent opinions.“
Really Paul? Nobody? Because again, it sounds to me like you're talking about Mitt Romney. Romney’s whole campaign has been based on rebuking imaginary opinions. The whole fraudulently edited “You Didn’t Build That” crap, the “President Obama wants to take the work out of welfare”, the “$716 Billion Medicare” lie, the “apology tour”, and the latest, “Obama wants to take God off your money”. So far, Mitt Romney’s entire campaign has been based on exactly what Paul Ryan said about President Obama today, rebuking non-existent opinions. But you know what Paul?
We’re calling you on it.
p.s. Here’s something simple you can do to spread the word about how dishonest these two are. If you’re on twitter and tweeting about Mitt Romney, why not use the hashtag #Mittnocchio? Example: #Mittnocchio is so dishonest, he makes Richard Nixon look like Honest Abe. For Paul Ryan, the hashtag #LyinRyan is more than fitting.
And one last thing for #LyinRyan, it’s not “Barack Obama”. As a member of Congress, when giving a formal speech, it’s PRESIDENT Obama, you smarmy, sanctimonious, little @&%#*.
