This MTP stunt has EpicFail papered all over it. As secure as Bibi feels sitting down for an interview with the timid & fawning David Gregory, this is a half court shot with plenty of time on the clock. First, Obama's bonafides with Jewish voters and Romney's recklessness with geo-politics will be tough for Netanyahu to wipe away in 30 minutes. Second, if he pushes enough, the conversation about Israel's nuclear capability will come up at the U.N. and beyond, a question that Israel will one day have to come clean on if it expects Iran to do as they say(and not as they do.) Third, the utter disregard for human rights in the occupied territories will erupt in violence again bringing us once more to the Palestine question. With the Egyptian border porous and Syria unstable at best, Bibi is in no position to be biting the hand that feeds. Time will tell but this shot looks like an air ball to me.
Why try to hit a desperate shot if your not desperate? Have the events in Libya and Egypt coupled with the separation in the polls gotten under the nails of the man with his finger on the Israeli nuclear arsenal? Is this about his own standing in the Knesset? The only thing he could do that would be more desperate is meet with Rmoney.
One day(soon I hope) there will be an open, honest debate at the U.N. regarding nuclear capability in the middle-east. Israel will stop lobbing accusations, sign on to the NPT, and open their nuclear facilities to inspectors. Little Bibi, meanwhile, better put on his thinking cap and try to figure out what the end game looks like because he just brought his queen out.
