Just two campaigners out there today. Never fear, tomorrow will be action-packed as we shall see, with the president in Ohio, the First Lady in Florida, the vice president in Iowa and John McCain in New Hampshire stumping for Romney. But on this Sunday, it's quiet, with just Jill Biden and Mitt Romney slated for scheduled appearances.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

while pointing out the obvious on tee vee just a moment ago, he engaged in the sort of elision which should not be tolerated from the "news" class.

Saying that it's pointless to insist that "American strength" souls straighten out the middle east as "many said" during the Iraq misadventure ...

Many who? The proper and accurate statement is "Bush, Cheney, republicans and neoconservatives" ... Of whom there weren't that many.

Gregory and his bunch of beltwaiters probably need to say it the way they do so we aren't reminded that they were the cheerleaders ... Bah.

spend this weekend prepping for the debates, FLOTUS is probably attending to the girls, and so Dr. Jill is taking up the slack for the weekend.  During the week when Dr. Jill goes back to teaching, the other three will resume their campaign trail duties. They will also enlist the Big Dog. This is another great example of fine team-work by the "Fab Five."

    •  the P and VP have other matters on their plate (0+ / 0-)

      don't you think?

And BC is still out and about.  Diary last night about campaign stop in WA state.

Not to mention, their best campaigners are Mitt and Paul opening their mouths.

seems to be rather light for someone who is down in the polls. Not complaining, but it seems strange to me. Starting to wonder if his internal polling shows he does better the less he's seen. Just seems weird to me.

I see's Mitt's posing today in front of warbirds, reminiscent of his earlier show with Ryan in front of a battleship.
He sure seems to like that military equipment that neither he, his running mate, his sons or his many chickenhawk neocon foreign policy advisers ever managed to actually man.

    •  He seems to have given up on the economic message. (1+ / 0-)

Now it's a military message, which probably won't work any better for him.

Mitt the Twitt is visiting Democratic voter country. Pueblo is a union town too. This tells me he will be importing rabid right wingers from Colorado Springs just to have a crowd.

      ...actually being POTUS, too.

Y'know, continuing to confer with political players in both the Middle East and the China Sea Basin, among other things.

  •  Romney has the lightest schedule of any candidate (0+ / 0-)

That I've seen.  An aircraft museum? Seriously?  The president covered 3 states last week with large crowds and still managed to deal with a mini-crisis.

This week, the President is covering 4 states and hitting a lot of big markets.  Part of the challenge for thisyear'scampaign is that there are so few battlegrounds that you needTo come up with places to visit.  By the time this race is over, I think the President might visit every GOP county in them battlegrounds.

  •  I hope that the rural Republicans of CO (0+ / 0-)

take a second to ask themselves, and then ask Romney, "Hey, we're getting devastated by this drought (that is in no way climate change related) and we might need that farm bill you assholes are holding up to prove that Obama's a bad guy.  Well, we agree with you on Obama...but you leave us hangin on this farm bill and we might have to change our tune."

    •  The CO campaign stop has been cancelled.. (0+ / 0-)

there was an unrelated accident at the airport and it has been closed.

The Romney campaign says it doesn't want to interfere in the investigation (into the accident at Pueblo).

But it's ok to interfere in foreign affairs.

      Yikes.

I'm starting to think that Romney can't keep up with the pace here; he needs a nap.  Again.

  •  I was at the Dr. Jill Biden event this morning (0+ / 0-)

She was accompanied by Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  They appeared at Obama headquarters in the Strip District in front of about 300 local women and a smattering of men.  Good speech, responsive crowd.  GOTV strongly stressed with only 51 days to go until election day.  The most important message they had for women:  WE WILL NOT GO BACK!!!
