I am in the 0% of Americans who are not dependent on the federal government.
All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.
I am not a victim. I have no entitlements. Government need not care for me. Government has no responsibility to me.
Government gives me nothing. I take 100% personal responsibility for my life.
I live 100 miles deep in the woods. No government is around.
Obviously, I wouldn't want manufactured lumber for my home. Lumber is dependent on federal highways. Lumber is dependent on federal forests. Lumber involves federal regulation.
So I've made my home out of logs. Which I cut all by myself.
I know what you are thinking: that I used a saw to cut my logs. Which would involve federal regulation, which comes from the federal government, which is an abdication of personal responsibility.
But no. I cut the logs, for my home, which I made all by myself, without help of federal government, using rocks.
Now I know what you are thinking: how do I have a computer? Didn't the federal government help invent them?
My computer is a hollowed out log. I hollowed out the log, using rocks. I got the copper for the wires from a mine shaft, which I dug in the ground, using rocks. The glass screen comes from sand, which I melted in a pot, made out of rocks. To make a hot fire underneath, I blew on it, all by myself.
Now you want to know: how do I have an internet?
I write my Daily Kos comments on birch bark. With a rock. I attach the birch bark to a carrier pigeon, which flies the message to a guy in Somalia. He then sends the message off to Daily Kos on his internet, and his internet is Somali.
To pay the guy in Somalia for sending my messages, I obviously can't use federal government dollars. Or regulated banking. That would be dependent. That would be an abdication of personal responsibility.
So, to the carrier pigeon, I attach a payment to the guy, of rocks.
Now you want to know: after my messages cross the ocean and get to America, how do they get to Daily Kos, and then to you?
Shit!
Busted. Damn.
To get my messages to Daily Kos, they must be carried on the American internet, which is dependent on the federal government, which is an abdication of personal responsibility.
To tell you the truth, I like it better that way. It puts me back in the real world.
I am part of the 100.00% of Americans who are dependent on the federal government.
