Some have wondered: Will CTU support Warehouse Workers?
The happy answer is: YES.

CTU returns the love!
Solidarity is the recognition that “your fight is my fight” and that a victory for one is a victory for all. Our educators have received so much love on the picket lines from parents, students and community allies. By fighting for gains that help us all we are already in solidarity. But we are going a step further.
We have allies around Chicagoland who are fighting their own battles for justice. Their fight is our fight! In addition to walking the picket line with Lake Forest teachers yesterday, a number of CTU members will join others in actions today. Please join us!
Wal-Mart Warehouse Workers: CTU members will join in an important action at the Chatham Wal-Mart at 83rd/Stewart. We will be expressing our support and solidarity for the several hundred Wal-Mart distribution center workers in Joliet, Illinois and in California who are on strike for safer working conditions. As educators, we are also protesting the role of the Walton Family Fund in financing efforts to privatize public education and to increase the number of charter schools.
Meet at 1:00pm in front of Simeon HS, 8147 S. Vincennes. We’ll have a short march to Wal-Mart where a delegation will enter the store to present the manager with a message on behalf of striking workers and in opposition to Wal-Mart’s educational policies. Please join us and our parent/community allies for this action. Many Wal-Mart workers are the parents of our students and this is a way to show our solidarity
Both this rally and the
rally in LA are taking place
TODAY!
Solidarity Forever
