Sorry for the informal diary, just wondered if anyone else caught it and wanted to discuss.
Erick Erickson of Redstate was for whatever reason invited onto NPR this morning to discuss the Romney tapes. He was introduced as a critic of Romney who backs what Romney said on the tapes. First he said that Romney just mixed up some similar things, but that he agrees with the intent of what he was saying. That too many people are on entitlements. The NPR host Steve Inskeep asked about this and Erickson went on about how so many people do not pay taxes and how that in itself is an entitlement. The host said 'What about Reagan signing earned income credits allowing low income people to not pay taxes' and Erickson was thrown off track and had to come up with how more people are on food stamps now than ever. The host asked again how this could be blamed on liberals and Erickson went into defending Romney for at least laying his ideas out. Inskeep then told Erickson to go get another cup of coffee.
I've heard worse interviews of course, but Erickson was on the defense the whole time and it did not really do him any favors. Inskeep did a fairly good job by NPR standards.

Erick Erickson editor of RedState.com says Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney needs to "own" the comments he made in a video released by the liberal publication Mother Jones. In the secretly taped video, Romney was speaking to donors and said President Obama's supporters are "dependent on the government" and "pay no income tax." Steve Inskeep talks to Erickson about his reactions to the video.
