We already know that the Pa. Voter ID law was passed because they're "gonna allow Governor Romney to win" Pennsylvania.
Pa. State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Crazytown), the original sponsor of that law, has now managed to tie the law to Romney's catastrophic 47% statement:
HOST: Are you absolutely convinced…that the methods to implement this law are effective and will in fact make sure no legitimate voter will be disenfranchised?
METCALFE: I don’t believe any legitimate voter that actually wants to exercise that right and takes on the according responsiblity that goes with that right to secure their photo ID will be disenfranchised. As Mitt Romney said, 47% of the people that are living off the public dole, living off their neighbors’ hard work, and we have a lot of people out there that are too lazy to get up and get out there and get the ID they need. If individuals are too lazy, the state can’t fix that. (Emphasis added.)
Outrageous? Well, not coming from Metcalfe, a poster boy for the sickness of the GOP -- an active member of ALEC, whose greatest hits include introducing a birther law, and ties to anti-immigrant hate groups. Here's his
response to a bus tour by veterans and others concerned about global warming:
“As a veteran, I believe that any veteran lending their name, to promote the leftist propaganda of global warming and climate change, in an effort to control more of the wealth created in our economy, through cap-and-tax-type policies, all in the name of national security, is a traitor to the oath he or she took defend (to) the Constitution of our great nation!” reads Metcalfe’s e-mail. “Remember Benedict Arnold before giving credibility to a veteran who uses their service as a means to promote a leftist agenda.”
Who
are these people?
