was on Dutch TV today and had a real powerful message. I was moved by his passion and a 'Yoda'-like wisdom in a setting of students and a thoughtful journalist. Ultimately the question came to the USA and it's race for 'Gold'. He was honest in his reply, but even more so after that. The money-quotes are at 42.30 min and after (but the whole is really good).

The subtitles are Dutch, but you'll get the message anyway
A transcription of the essential part is (roughly after 42.30):
Question:
'Will President Obama be the next president of the USA? You think he'll be reelected?
'Arch':
Pause ... well ... the alternative is ... eh (laughing) ... you can't imagine someone saying "47 percent of the electorate I'm giving up, they won't vote for me" and, I mean, to be so dismissive, saying that people who depend (grasps his head in dismay) ..., it's painfull ...
Question:
"Is it stupidity ?"
"Arch":
No, but ... where's his heart? What does he think of? I mean, the fact that you're poor doesn't make you less human. Many of the poorest people I know are the proudest people."
To be honest, it was listening to a wise man.
